With the new Taifun® GT V (GT5), the great journey of the legendary GT series enters the fifth generation. The name says it all: in terms of comfortable reliability in everyday life, robust and solid construction, with a "sporty" high-performance character, the Taifun® GT V is a worthy successor to its avant-garde predecessor - and therefore the ideal companion for all situations.

"Gran Turismo" has always been the guiding theme of the Taifun® GT series. Ease-of-use and intuitive operation are the focus, without having to sacrifice taste and performance. This is where the strengths of the new Taifun® GT V come into play, which consistently continues the pioneering approaches of the standard-setting reference atomizer as set by the Taifun® GT IV. In detail, the following improvements compared to the Taifun® GT IV are as follows:

Improved Wire Traps and Simplified Deck Design

As first seen with the Taifun GT IV Titan Edition RTA, the wire traps for the coil now features a relief cut-out to further secure your coil legs to prevent them from moving when tightening down the coil screws.

In addition, the coil post arrangement is now similar to the deck introduced with the Taifun BTD RDA, eliminating the 5th and 6th middle screw holes that were originally in the Taifun GT IV. This yields greater structural integrity of the overall pole design.

Blockage-Free Liquid Control

The liquid channels of the Taifun® GT V have been enlarged again compared to the Taifun GT IV. Experienced Taifun® GT IV users please note the special instructions for laying cotton.

Simple operation of the top cap will automatically open or close the Liquid Control, depending on the mode you set the tank to. It is no longer necessary to remove the top cap and look where you've put it down, nor awkwardly hold the top cap and your device at the same time while refilling. The Taifun® GT V's top cap allows for control of the atomizer for various functions, very much like the MF Ring (Multi-Function Ring) as first introduced with the Taifun GX RDTA. The Top Cap of the Taifun GT V provides three modes of operation, with a subtly audible and haptic feeling of a "click" to let you know you have reached one of the three function modes:

• Vape Mode. (Open Circle)
• Set to this mode for standard vaping operation, or to access the rebuilding deck for rebuilding and maintenance. Setting to this mode automatically opens the liquid control ports so that users no longer need to remember to open the liquid ports after filling:

• Transport/Locked Mode. (Circle with "X" through it)
• Set to this mode for transport of the device. Setting to this mode automatically closes the liquid control ports to minimizes the chance of leaking during transport. Additionally, setting to this mode will lock the tank to the deck so that the two parts can not be separated accidentally:

• Fill Mode. (Exposed fill port)
• Set to this mode for easy side-fill without the need to remove any parts! Fits all standard dropper nozzles. Setting to this mode automatically closes the liquid control ports to prevent liquid dumping in to the deck during the filling process. Integrated breather hole prevents pressure-buildup in the tank during filling:

Threadless Tank System

Except for the 510 connection, the Taifun® GT V has eliminated all threads from the device for simplified everyday operation. No tilting or snagging, no cross-threading, and no more damage to the threads if you "quickly" and carelessly mount the tank. The tank can only be mounted in one specified direction via an internal bayonet and lug system to ensure a consistent alignment and seating at all times. The bayonet connection is tight enough to withstand everyday movement and gives you tactile feedback when you are about to open it.

Real borosilicate glass (as installed) and a high-quality PSU (optional) tank windows are available as tank inserts.

Sophisticated Airflow System

The Taifun® GT V combines the well-known variability of the Air Disks introduced with the Taifun® GX RDTA to offer focused and high velocity airflow directly at the coil, along with a precisely adjustable outer AFC ring. The combination of both tried-and-tested systems not only allows you maximum adjustment to your own needs, but also allows you to achieve a significant improvement in the feel of the draw. In addition, the reduction of the cavity under the chamber significantly reduces the formation of condensation build-up and reduces noise. The massive AFC ring has double micro ball bearings detents, and is easy to use at any time without worrying about it accidentally moving out of your set position.

Swapping Air Disks is simple, fully changeable externally and does not require a user to access the deck to quickly change airflow at the coil. Just remove the AFC ring, grab the Air Disk with pointed tweezer tips, pull out, and re-insert a different size Air Disk!

For DL / RDL Vapers

The Taifun® GT V is intended exclusively for use as a DL/RDL (direct to lung/restrictive direct to lung) vaping experience. Even if the adjustable Air Disk system and the adjustable AFC ring possibilities theoretically offer you the capability of being able to set it for a proper MTL air flow resistance, we expressly recommend that you do not purchase this atomizer with the intent to use it as a pure MTL atomizer, because you may be disappointed. Due to the large build deck, large chamber, and large liquid ports, the overall design is not ideal for MTL (mouth-to-lung) operation. In addition, the internal design of the evaporation chamber's bowl is designed for much larger and more powerful coils, which would result in insufficient saturation of vapour density from classic MTL coils, yielding low taste. Attempting to use the Taifun GT V as a MTL atomizer will result in sub-par performance compared to a dedicated MTL atomizer, and/or will require extensive rebuilding and modification knowledge to properly modify the chamber and port sizing to get a proper MTL vaping experience. In short, it is better to just get a MTL-specific atomizer such as the Taifun® GTR or Taifun® GT ONE if you are looking for a lower wattage output and/or restrictive airflow setup such as what those atomizers are designed to provide. 

Air Disks

Two 3x1.8mm Air Disks are included with the Taifun GT V and the device ships pre-installed with these. The Air Disks can be exchanged from below deck on the Taifun® GT V; to exchange the Air Disks, only the AFC ring has to be removed.

With the default configuration of the two 3x1.8mm Air Disks, the airflow resistance will be just a bit more restrictive than the Taifun® GT IV.

Operation without Air Disks is also possible for maximum air flow, which will give the user an airflow a little bit looser than a Taifun® GT IV with the Open Draw Positive Pole installed. This configuration would allow for the maximum airflow and wattage capabilities of the Taifun GT V.

Special Instructions

In order to be able to detach the tank from the base, the vaporizer must be set to the "vaping" position. The middle position of the top cap is not suitable to keep liquid from getting into the chamber in the long term. If the evaporator is not used for a longer period of time, it must be emptied completely to prevent leakage through the air supply. Also when assembling the tank, pay attention to the position of the top cap. The top cap can only be separated from the tank when the base is removed. To mount the inner tank ring, insert the top cap, turn it to the steam position and ideally tighten the screws in a "star" pattern to equalize tension distribution across the entire ring.

The scope of delivery includes two additional O-rings in a separate bag. These are designed to adjust the required clearance between the base/deck and the tank. The red O-ring corresponds to a medium hardness (compared to the one which is already installed), and the black O-ring offers the maximum hardness. Please note that the harder the selected O-ring, the more difficult it will be to detach the tank from the base.

The Taifun® GT V has significantly larger liquid inlets than the GT IV. A sufficient amount of cotton must be completely in front of the opening. When filling, tilt the evaporator slightly backwards (seen from the bottle) to ensure adequate venting. Do not push the liquid into the tank too forcefully.

NOTE: It is highly recommend that you fully clean out this product before the first time you use it. While the factory does a decent job at removing dust, shavings, machining lubricants and greases, there is still the potential for trace elements to remain, and it is best recommended that you do an additional cleaning to meet your standard of cleanliness.
