Prelude V2, Polished SS & Black PVD by Xtra Mile Vape

The Prelude V2 by Xtra Mile Vape by the late Yongjoon Jin of South Korea is an exquisite 18650 box mod, with power regulation duties handled by an Evolv DNA60 chipset.

The Prelude V2 and Yongjoon's design language speaks in high contrast. Like Yin and Yang, the Prelude V2 is gently refined, yet bold and hard edged in its clean monolithic block design. In short, it is pure class.

Note for this particular unit: This is a USED item, which we are declaring in a 7 out of 10 condition. While it has been handled with care with no drops, dents, nor deep scratches, the polished SS bottom plate does show some micro scratches on two of the sides from accidentally being placed in a pocket against another item, resulting in a number of micro scratches on two of the sides. While the surface can be re-polished to remove these micro scratches, the process is performed by essentially removing material, and so for the sake of keeping this unit as close to original as possible, we have decided to leave the scratches intact. Due to the nature of high polished stainless steel, micro scratches are almost inevitable, and tend to be very visible once they appear. As such, we have deemed it unnecessary to remove these micro scratches, but if you wish to have these scratches polished out, reach out to us and we can discuss to see if there is something we can do about this for your purchase.

There are no wear marks on the black Ultem body.

While we have done our best to show these micro scratches via these unaltered photos, these micro scratches on the polished SS plate are difficult to see under most lighting conditions, and in particular under strong photography strobe lighting. As such, the scratches are not particularly visible in these product photos. Under most conditions, these scratches might not be visible, but when light hits it a certain way, they will be visible.

A block of black Ultem forms the main body, capped at the bottom by polished stainless steel for a very high contrast look.

Encased within the matte media blasted black Ultem body, is an Evolv DNA60 chipset with a micro USB port at the bottom of the mod for charging as well as Escribe programming access via a PC. There is room for a single 18650 battery.

Adjustment buttons are located at the bottom of the mod beside the battery cap, and are made of stainless steel and finished in a bright polish to match the polished SS bottom cap.

Main firing button and 510 Connector are also made of stainless steel, but polished and then coated in a black PVD coating for striking luxurious look while adding a harder surface to add greater wear-resistance. PVD coating is a common process used in luxury watches to add a rich yet hard-wearing scratch-resistance surface.

Do note, that original marketing for the Prelude V2 black components had originally spec'ed these parts to be coated in DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon), but due to inconsistency in finishing process, it was changed to black PVD instead, which is almost as durable. PVD is the same coating process as the TiN (Titanium-Nitride) gold coating on the tip of drill bits.
